Violetta D’Agata, AEC, AIC is a London-based Director of Photography specializing in cinematic storytelling for feature films and long-form drama. She brings a bold visual style and emotional intimacy to every project, combining technical mastery with a highly organic way of operating the camera, shaping lighting and movement to reflect characters’ perspective and mood. She has lived, studied, and worked in the US, Spain, Italy, and the UK, bringing a rich international perspective to her cinematography.
Her narrative credits include Flovver, It’s the Blackness, Purple Beatz, and London Calling. She has collaborated with Julien Temple on I’m Curious Johnny (HBO Max), Silent Movie (BBC4), and Crock of Gold, and worked on projects for VICE, HBO, and the BBC.
D’Agata’s commercial portfolio spans global clients such as Coca-Cola (Fuzetea), Valentino, Halifax, Vivo, and Ducati, while her short films have screened internationally. In 2021, she was selected for BFI Network x BAFTA Crew.
With dual Italian and German citizenship, she is available for projects worldwide, bringing a cinematic sensibility and collaborative ethos to narrative work and a strong interest in long-form drama and streaming series.
